Christmas 2016
Dining date: 12/25/16
2016 flew by so quickly, as did another holiday season centered around a Christmas feast. Not unlike past years, this Christmas was a tale of two meals – one celebrated on each side of the family. Lunch is a large buffet-style potluck affair, hosted by my aunt and uncle (who prepare most of the food). My grandmother handles most of dinner preparation, which is a bit more meat-centric.
Lunch:
egg rolls
fried wontons
bacon wrapped sausages
vegetable rolls
potstickers
salmon
chow mein
sauteed vegetables
shrimp
lumpia
smoked chicken over farro
ham
beers
cheese plate
cupcakes
panettone from roy
Dinner:
strip loin roast
roasted turkey
lobster tails
ham
stuffing
chinese sticky rice
mashed potatoes
gravy
asparagus
cognac and wine
dream cake
As usual, there were plenty of leftovers which were enjoyed for many days to come. It was great to enjoy another Christmas with family and friends and I look forward to next year’s!
Where does the Dream Cake come from?
Sweet Stop in San Francisco.

Wow! What an incredibly beautiful and delicious looking array of foods and beverages your family prepared here. Very impressive. You are very lucky to have some obviously great cooks in your family!
Thank you! And yes, VERY lucky.
