Kiriko has been a mainstay on the corner of Olympic and Sawtelle for almost two decades. I’ve been to the restaurant once many years ago for lunch. I don’t really remember anything from that visit, but came back for a sushi-focused dinner. We did a sushi omakase which priced out to be about $80 per diner before tax/tip/drinks.

The sushi at Kiriko certainly wasn’t the most precise – it was inconsistent bordering on sloppy at times. A couple of the pieces had to be remade after falling apart. I would’ve preferred pieces to be prepared one at a time too, especially since we were seated at the bar. Having said that, there was a wide variety and good value to this meal. I counted 23 pieces (almost all of them a unique fish), which I thought was pretty reasonable for the price.
